I told myself that if and when DC Direct puts male versions ofr Ame-Comi, then that's my cue to let go of that line. Nothing against the heroes, of course. Just really really liked the idea of having anime versions of the female cast.

And then what do they do?! The first one they release is Batman. BATMAN!!! I can't resist Bats.

Some might think this version looks a little hokey (come on, most bat-variants are!!!), but I quite like it. Kinda feels like something from Batman: Gotham Knight.

Aaaand then! Just to make things even more annoying, they pair him with a Robin. But not just any Robin. A female Robin!

As few people know, me and female Robins don't really "get along".

So now I will have to get a Batman that will ruin the theme of my collection, and a Female Robin that I don't really want. Booness.

Since I didn't get to posting aboot it then - I got the 13-inch Deluxe Figure last Christmas, and the Superman/Batman version for my Birthday this year. ^_^;

Color me not surprised, quite honestly.

I've been thinking about dropping Robin for AGES, but didn't get around to, just because of "loyalty" to the character. I managed to drop Nightwing, coz I so didn't feel like I was reading the Nightwing that I knew.

BoP, while I loved Dixon's start, was excellent with Gail Simone on it, and didn't really get to catch up after. Sadly, even with Tony Bedard on it.

I'm just annoyed coz I feel like these books weren't really prioritized anyway, so if it is blamed on sales, then they have no one to blame but themselves. :P

Yes, I'm cranky.

I lack sleep, didn't get to do NaNo last night, hate our internet connection at the office, didn't get comics last week, very hungry, and losing more books from my pull list. Who wouldn't be cranky?

Yes, yes. If you've seen the latest issue of Secret Invasion, that is indeed our president. Leinil is calling it a nod to Pinoys. LOL I think it's totally funny.



This is also one of those perfect opportunities for this medium to go mainstream - as it's been all over, including the local news!

Hey not bad, since the only time comics was mentioned in the local news was when Cap died. :P

You know what? I was never worried. But even with that, it surpassed all my expectations.

My biggest concern was to make sure I don't cry when Heath first appears. My second thought when it started was, "omg omg omg it's really here!!!". Three minutes in and I already knew, this is going to best film in a very long time.

Every scene was just impressive. Not over the top, but definitely impressive. I'm sure it helped that I was in IMAX, but each shot was just perfect. Every character, every characterization was solid. The over-all plot, and every sub-plot complemented each other and fell into place. Everydone did their share, everyone delivered. Kudos to the whole team.

It. Was. Fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm gonna go again. Maybe two more times. Or three.

How many years have I thought about going to SDCC? 3? 6? Not sure, but it's definitely a long time and hundreds of conversations in between.

Maybe this is why I'm taking Turner's passing a wee bit harder than expected. I realized I will never get the chance anymore to see him at a con - to shake his hand, get a sketch, have something signed, or be all dorky and say, "greattofinallymeetyouI'msuchafan!"

I'll never know what his smile looks like in person, or how he talks and interacts with other fans and his fellow creators.

Now I won't have the chance to ask him why he didn't draw any DC art for VS system, and only had one overall.

You know, those kinds of stuff.

Aside from that, I'm just simply sad to have lost a person whose works bring a smile to my face and much giddiness in my heart. *lightly chuckles* A person who seemed to be a good guy despite all the bashing.

We'll miss you, Mike. Thanks for leaving us much pretties.

Around a year ago, there was Chris Benoit. Then there was Mike Wieringo. Start of this year, it was Heath Ledger.

Today it's goodbye yet again to another personal favorite - another instrument that brings much joy to this fangir's heart.



You'll be missed, Mike.
